This is an upcycled, antique Victorian foot stool from the 1800's. The frame is heavy cast iron, and the original cotton batting is intact. Hand painted in fuchsia pink chalk paint with a protective clear coat. Then professionally upholstered in Kantha quilt in shades of pink, turquoise, black and yellow, with a pattern of flowers and polka dots. Beautiful curves and detail from every angle!
I will enclose a set of felt pads for use on wood or stone floors.

Kantha (meaning patched cloth) quilts are free trade creations from India. They are made from vintage saris, with 2 layers of fabric and no center batting, 100% cotton, and amazingly soft from age! They are characterized by the long running stitch, which is the Kantha embroidery stitch. The technique is approximately 500 years old. Each quilt has several fabric patterns showing, and random patches, making each one unique and beautiful!
